First Day Filming Blog !!

Image
Today was the beginning of filming for my new balance cleats commercial. I came dressed in my uniform and had all the gear I needed. When I arrived I received my filming pass and then headed off to the softball field to start filming. My first problem I ran into was how I was going to film while being the actor. I found propping my filming device against my helmet at the low angle I needed. I first scene I did was the POV shot of my tying my cleat laces the dugout. The next scene was a shot of me running the bases. I ended up having not the film all the scenes on my storyboard because I would have ran out of time in editing. My favorite scene came up to filming and I have been looking up to filming this. I again filmed this by propping my phone up from two different angles and editing the timing later. A girl saw me struggling filming the running portion of my commercial. She kindly asked if I need help doing a tracking shot and that how I filmed the tracking shot. Next I needed

The storyboard is an easy way for me to create pictures of what I want my shots to individually look like. From the beginning of my commercial to the end I can plan each individual shot and that includes the type of shot or action and props needed. My commercial will be made up of majority close up shots of the cleats. However, include pan shots of the field and point of view shots. To break down my storyboard I will go individually describing my view of the shot, props needed, and camera angle.  Scene one consists of majority editing. I mentioned on my about me blog I play for the varsity softball team and majority of the players play in New Balance cleats. The opening scene with be a ton of clips of the teammates playing and some of me with the NB (New Balance) logo fading on the screen. The clips I have collected from my teammates and got the logo from the internet.  Scene two is a behind the actor shot of me carrying my softball bag wearing my uniform towards the field. The fie

Research Blog

Today in class I conducted research on my brand New Balance for background information, similar commercials, and camera angles and shots I would need to create. A commercial is used to advertise a product or brand to convince a customer to buy. I researched the commercial of the brand and related brands to see the commercial they professionally make. I took account the mood, outfits, music, and shots used in the professional commercial. According the New Balences website,"We stand for something bigger than sneakers. We champion those who are fearlessly driven by they passions. We elevate sport. We do right by the people and the planet. Together, we drive meaningful change in communities around the world." New Balance is known for sponsoring and supporting sports such as track and field, baseball, softball, soccer, and more. I'm excited to create a commercial showing how new balance cleats are part of an athlete through a softball players perceptive.  - Outfits

Commercial Group Blog

I have come to the decision to create my commercial alone. On short assignments such as the commercial, I prefer to work alone. I have found when you have a group on individuals on an assignment like this one, there is too many ideas and voices to be represented. Another reason I choose to work alone is so I am accountable for my own work. This eliminates the stress of having to make sure everyone submits and does their part of the assignment. I feel when I work alone, I'm the one to have the control over the assignment and can raise the standards. My exceptions for projects is set really high and working with people that don't match my work ethic and standards adds more work for me then what's needed. My personality matches with working alone. I'm an over-achiever and like to challenge myself to the best work I can turn in. In addition, I'm very creative and do not like to turn in the average projects or assignments. Working alone also allows me
