Mental Health is important

Image
A person's mental state plays an important role in their job. My job as producer of this opening scene requires me to put myself and my mental health first. The stress on students right now is high. Currently at my school with the upcoming FSA, AICE, and finals has all teachers piling homework on students to prepare them for the exams. My mental health has been decreasing recently by causing me to have writing blocks and creative blocks that are required to film. Quarter three was a difficult time and during the winter break, I was not given the time to relax and fully give my brain a break. According to an article, I read," Tests give students anxiety which can worsen their performances. Many colleges and universities rely on testing when they’re going through applications. With so much riding on these tests and so much pressure put on students, it shouldn’t be surprising that their work isn’t always their best. Students who have more responsibilities outside of school, are i

Change of Plans

Image
As the title states, there has been a change of plans in terms of the product of my final task.  I will have to cut the total amount of script to a minimum.  I have changed my aspect of what I want to create and I am leaning more towards a euphoria aspect. In euphoria contains flashbacks with a monotone voiceover. According to an article written about the producer's opinion of the show, " The look and feel of the show are as superheated as adolescence itself. The colors are bold, the score and needle-drop songs are loud, and the camera rarely sits still when it can glide, swoop whip-pan, or spiral. Every episode starts with a speedy prologue outlining the backstory of a recurring character shot, cut, and scored like a “previously on” recap of someone’s life. (Levinson wrote all eight episodes in the first season and directed five.) The medium-size town in which the tale is set was mainly built from scratch, the better to allow for expressionistic lighting and acrobatic visuals

Music for my Final Tests

Image
The music I want to use for my final task is royal-free and non-copyright. The song can be found on youtube as Cinematic Tension Trailer No Copyright Background Music. The reason I wanted to use this sound was it's a slowly building sound. This means at the beginning of the music fit that slow memory flashbacks. The whole idea of my opening scene was flashbacks from the abusive past to the present times.    My opening scene is more like the scenes in euphoria when the voice-over is monotone. I did research on how euphoria's voice affected the show. According to a producer, "As with the conception of the show, it’s, 'Let’s break all the rules we can.' Because it feels like the way that we consume stories, or the way that we follow narratives, at this particular point in time is haphazard and meta... It felt like breaking down traditional narratives was the perfect way to tell the story. Breaking the fourth wall [and] voice-over that shifts from first-person to

Makeup time

Today I filmed the intro portion for my opening scene. The scene consisted of the make up done on my face and the location was in my kitchen. In the scene I had to set up my camera and then I use my moms phone as the decoy phone or prop phone. I had to capture the name showing up on the phone so I switched my contacts name to unknown. Next I called my mom‘s phone from my phone and shot the overhead view of the phone on the counter. The next scene was me walking into the kitchen mainly in loungewear.  Capture that aspect I just wore a hoodie and sweatpants and picked up my phone like I would for any call. My next task I had to film a shot of me going up the stairs.  This proved to be a challenge due to the angle and my stairs when you’re going up you’re surrounded by two walls. Yeah next thing at the farm is the out of the house shots. this includes the truck shots, and the boat shots this morning. This is going to prove a challenge because I might not have any and every person on the

Target Run: production blog

Image
Today I went to target and got a colorful makeup palette in order to complete the makeup looks there needed for filming. The pallet I got was the revolutionary makeup revolution London eyeshadow palette. I also got permission from my parents to film this weekend because some of the shots that I need will need my parents to help. For example, the driving and boat shot.  Hi practice giving myself a makeup bruise in cuts and bruises all over and then I tried on my outfit and it looked pretty good to me I just need to set the time with my parents to start filming. This week it’s felt like all my teachers have decided to drop tests on me Friday alone I have a math quiz and a European Cambridge history test. In addition with the quarter closing soon I’ve had a math test next week a comm tech quiz and an English essay due by next week. The closer we get to the Cambridge exams it’s a game more stressful on the students at the school because state teachers are starting to dump their work on us

Production Blog for Final

Today I mainly focused on Preparing for my up coming Cambridge exams for drama. In my aice drama exam i have to memorize and play a scene from two plays. One of the plays is an orginial meaning when wrote it. The other piece is a scene from Painting Church by Tina Howe. Gardner and Fanny Church are preparing to move from their home in Beacon Hill  to their summer villa in Cape Cod. Once a famous poet, Gardner is now  retired. He slips in and out of the bokeh while his wife Fanny bravely tries to float both. They  asked her daughter Magus to go home and help them move. Her Magus agrees and she hopes she will eventually be able to  paint her own portrait. Now she herself is  on the brink of artistic fame, and she wants her to be able to get along with her parents and her with her by drawing her parents. When Fanny and Gardner actually walk the frame and become an indescribable timeless work of art, Magus finally wins. Tomorrow I’m preparing to get the supplies needed for filming. I hav
