Target Run: production blog



Today I went to target and got a colorful makeup palette in order to complete the makeup looks there needed for filming. The pallet I got was the revolutionary makeup revolution London eyeshadow palette. I also got permission from my parents to film this weekend because some of the shots that I need will need my parents to help. For example, the driving and boat shot.  Hi practice giving myself a makeup bruise in cuts and bruises all over and then I tried on my outfit and it looked pretty good to me I just need to set the time with my parents to start filming. This week it’s felt like all my teachers have decided to drop tests on me Friday alone I have a math quiz and a European Cambridge history test. In addition with the quarter closing soon I’ve had a math test next week a comm tech quiz and an English essay due by next week. The closer we get to the Cambridge exams it’s a game more stressful on the students at the school because state teachers are starting to dump their work on us and hope to make up for the course that hasn’t been covered yet. For filming time I’ve decided to start filming at dawn or dusk because it provides the film with low sunlight in addition to adding to the mood of the overall film. Also recently found out that I have a plane ticket to fly out to Colorado to see family right after school ends.  And it’s been hard in media studies during class time because we have to write the blogs however due to that it’s our final project we haven’t been able to film at school which adds to the complication of filming outside of school. During school when after writing my blogs I can finish my homework and also start working on practicing for the media studies essay. At the same time, I try to keep up with the latest what’s happening in movie theaters and premieres of new shows. This includes ratings, cash flow, and more. The overall mood of my movie opening is going to be dark but with dim lighting. This is going to add to the audience‘s rising anxiety and darkness. I also want to make my film as much of a thriller as possible with also adding a hint of mystery and keeping their audience on their toes. This opening film is definitely going to be hard for me because knowing me I want to keep it at the best quality possible. However, I’m only just a student with a phone camera and sketchy editing websites. Another quality that’s going to be hard for me is not filming the whole movie I have to remember that this is an opening scene so I cannot release the whole two-minute movie or one minute and a half movie. I have to be able to leave the suspense to the audience's imagination. I am looking forward to starting filming my opening scene and hope that the quality and editing and overall production of the film will come out to my high expectations.

Change of Plans

As the title states, there has been a change of plans in terms of the product of my final task.  I will have to cut the total amount of script to a minimum.  I have changed my aspect of what I want to create and I am leaning more towards a euphoria aspect. In euphoria contains flashbacks with a monotone voiceover. Title Design Research: Thriller 30 days of Night

  1.      How many titles are displayed during the opening sequences to the film? Which ones? Ni- Nine Titles were displayed in the opening sequence of 30 days of Night. Stated in the article on watch the titles," The audience is confronted with a sequence of highly disquieting images that cross-dissolve or fade to black. Details of torn and tainted photographs, northern lights, shadows, a bloody tooth embedded in a thick layer of ice and references to the Alaskan wintercape. Brian Reitzell‘s haunting score greatly enhances the discomforting atmosphere." The titles in this opening sequence are simple in all white, however in all capitial letters to state the importantance. Commercial Group Blog

                  I have come to the decision to create my commercial alone. On short assignments such as the commercial, I prefer to work alone. I have found when you have a group on individuals on an assignment like this one, there is too many ideas and voices to be represented. Another reason I choose to work alone is so I am accountable for my own work. This eliminates the stress of having to make sure everyone submits and does their part of the assignment. I feel when I work alone, I'm the one to have the control over the assignment and can raise the standards. My exceptions for projects is set really high and working with people that don't match my work ethic and standards adds more work for me then what's needed. My personality matches with working alone.
